구글 로컬 가이드 레벨10 - Kevin Ko
구글 로컬 가이드 레벨 10
I am Kevin Ko from South Korea and I am a Level 10 Local Guide.
There are not many Google local guides in Korea compared to other countries.
But how did I become Google Local Guide Level 10?
100,000 points is Level 10, but I have already exceeded 210,000 points.
So how do you become Local Guide Level 10?
That means Local Guide should be your daily life.
• Habitually take as many pictures as possible, such as outside, inside, and food of the places you visit.
The important thing is not to be embarrassed about taking pictures.
Also, you shouldn't take pictures of people's faces to prevent privacy violation.
• Check if the address and phone number of the place you visit are correct, and edit the incorrect information.
• Take a business card of the places you visit.
• Don't post a review right away, but write it in detail more than 200 characters later.
• Taking a video is better, but it wasn't easy for me either.
• When you find a newly opened place, take a picture and add location.
When you add a place, it is helpful to register if there are photos of the exterior or business cards.
• Do not skip the fact check for the place and answer immediately.
• Once you find a closed place, take a picture and suggest editing it to closed status.
• Make a list that you are interested in or want to share with others.

• Finally, this is the most interesting and important thing I've done as a Local Guide.
Change the language setting of Google Map to English instead of Korean.
Then, if you edit the place, you can register English names in addition to Korean names.
So, I use two smartphones in Korean and English.
It is also important to follow the standard Roman notation when you add names in English.
Depending on the place, you need to distinguish between the name that needs to be translated into meaning and the name written in Korean pronunciation.
박물관 does not write Bakmulgwan as Korean pronunciation, but rather tranlates Museum.
However, if there is a cafe named 박물관, it should be written in pronunciation so that foreigners can easily find it.
In other words, it is advisable to add the official names into meanings and add the names of restaurants and stores according to their Korean pronunciation.
ex.) 국립 박물관 → National Museum,
카페 박물관 → Cafe Bakmulgwan
